Biography
Renzo Vanna earned his PhD in Molecular Medicine in 2012, studying human brain neuromelanin through proteomics. After postdoctoral work in biophotonics at LABION (IRCCS Don Gnocchi) and Twente University (NL), he coordinated the EU project NanoPlasmiRNA on miRNA detection via plasmonic imaging. In 2018, he co-founded the Nanomedicine and Molecular Imaging Lab at IRCCS Maugeri. Since 2019, he has been a researcher at CNR-IFN (Politecnico di Milano), now Primo Ricercatore, leading biophotonics research using a home built Raman microscope and other tecniques. He leads EU projects (TROPHY, CHARM, SpectraBREAST), co-PIs OPTIMA, and co-developed RamApp for hyperspectral image analysis.
