VISPEC is a SIOF working group born from the tradition of a group of spectroscopists founded in the 1980s (see historical context).

The VISPEC working group focuses on several areas:

Applications of vibrational spectroscopy
Development of methods/techniques for vibrational spectroscopy
Areas of synergistic interest with other SIOF groups
